How can high-security workplaces protect what they can’t fully see?
Envoy surveyed 1,076 security, compliance, IT, and facilities leaders across two independent 2026 studies. One examined the broader enterprise. The other focused on some of the country’s most sensitive workplaces, including frontier AI labs, defense-tech firms, and biotech and medical R&D.
The findings reveal a striking gap between confidence and control. Many organizations can’t reliably account for who’s inside their buildings. Most have experienced unauthorized access. Yet nearly two-thirds are highly confident they could pass an audit today without preparation.
