Flexible working

Flexible working is a work arrangement that gives employees more say in where, when, and how they work. Rather than having to work on-site five days per week, a company with flexible working options might allow its employees to work remotely part of the week. This is also known as a hybrid work model. However, it’s important to note that though flexible work and hybrid work are often confused, they’re not the same. Hybrid work is a type of flexible working arrangement. Other types include full remote, part-time, a shortened workweek, and nontraditional work hours. 

Many people find flexible working attractive because it can enable better work-life balance. And more balance means higher employee morale, retention, and engagement. To get the most out of flexible working, employers need to provide clear guidance on how the arrangement will work for their organization. It’s also important to have resources in place for employees to be productive—tools that enable remote collaboration, desk and meeting room booking, and workplace schedules are a few examples.
