Envoy Unveils Innovative Security Solutions to Secure Workplaces and Ensure Protection for Employees and Visitors
SAN FRANCISCO – March 26, 2024 – Envoy, the only integrated workplace platform that connects people, spaces, and data, today announced multiple advancements that streamline workplace access and safety for enterprises and highly regulated industries. With this release, Envoy has extended workplace safety notifications to both employees and visitors, and announced visitor recognition and registration, and self-serve mobile visitor sign-in across multiple locations. Envoy’s latest features modernize security, safety, and compliance requirements, safeguarding against financial and reputational risks, including fines, lawsuits, and breaches.
An Envoy “Future of Work” industry report set to be published in April shows that 91% of workforces have returned to onsite work either full-time or in a hybrid model. This influx of employees back on premises has required companies to reevaluate their approach to physical security and safety across facilities, buildings, and dispersed geographic locations. To streamline their security efforts and safeguard their workforces and visitors, companies now need to rely on one system to manage access, operations and safety communications across all of their locations. However, nearly half of physical security leaders report struggling to maintain consistent security, safety, and compliance standards while also reducing costs across their various sites. Compounding this challenge in recent months, companies are also facing constraints due to inadequate staffing and resourcing due to cost-cutting measures.
In response to these challenges, Envoy's expanded security and compliance capabilities include real-time emergency alerts reaching all onsite personnel, intuitive self-serve mobile visitor sign-in across multiple locations, and passive occupancy tracking that eliminates manual employee sign-in by capturing signals across door access systems and Wi-Fi. These key capabilities include:
- Emergency notifications have now been extended to both employees and visitors through its workplace platform. This ensures everyone onsite receives immediate alerts during a safety or emergency incident, not just those assigned to an office. Additionally, individuals can confirm their well-being with a “mark as safe” functionality, facilitating a faster response to those requiring assistance.
- Static QR code that allows visitors to self-serve the entire sign-in process on their own mobile device, streamlining secure registration especially on high traffic days, without requiring tablets at every location.
- Versatile virtual front desk capability (inquire about beta here), provides secure, automated visitor reception across multiple locations, offering a self-service experience that eliminates the need for dedicated staff at all locations. This allows for faster inquiry responses, reduced staffing costs, and increased operational flexibility when front desks are unstaffed, particularly during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Facial recognition using biometric data streamlines the visitor sign-in process for pre-registered and returning guests. This modern approach expedites check-ins, minimizing reception wait times, while still maintaining security protocols through biometric verification.
- Passive presence capture across multiple systems, including door access and Wi-Fi, removes the need for employees to manually check into a desk or use a mobile app to mark that they're in the office and removes human error in reporting efforts. By consolidating reliable occupancy data from these integrated systems, organizations gain visibility into occupancy patterns and make critical decisions about real-estate costs, staffing, and resourcing decisions.
"The way companies are utilizing office space today is more complex than we've seen before - in office attendance varies, employees are traveling between multiple office locations, you have to consider vendors and deliveries - securing our spaces has gotten trickier," said Larry Gadea, Founder and CEO at Envoy. "Businesses want a unified solution that can secure multiple office locations and remain compliant, without increasing costs or sacrificing user experience."
