Announcing Envoy Workplace: Make smarter, data-driven decisions to optimize your workplace

In an exciting move last week, we launched Envoy Workplace, the latest step in our journey to power the places where people work best together. Workplace is the industry’s first fully integrated solution that combines all the essential components for running an optimized, data-driven workplace while delivering an exceptional onsite experience. We’ve been building up to this launch for years, developing solutions for Desks, Deliveries, and Rooms. Along the way, we’ve added analytics, hybrid scheduling, mapping, ticketing, third-party integrations, and a mobile app for employees to plan for and navigate their day in the workplace. By designing all these elements to work together and to collect data passively behind the scenes, Workplace empowers every leader with the most reliable, unified view of their workplaces—at the moment they need it.

Drive smart decision-making

In this complex hybrid world, CEOs need to be able to make thoughtful, informed decisions about their global footprint. They need to know whether their in-office policies are effective. Likewise, workplace leaders are looking to simplify their work, manage spend across locations, and get ahead of changes in demand. Given the speed with which the world is changing, it’s impossible to make these kinds of assessments without comprehensive occupancy and space utilization data that lets leaders know which teams are onsite and how people are using space by location. With Envoy Workplace, leaders gain a new perspective from analytics that are more accurate and reliable than anything else in-market. Envoy captures data from multiple sources including door access scans, WiFi, employee app sign-ins, and other passive signals. Data collection is automatic, pulling information from multiple signals as employees go about their everyday activities onsite.

Recently, I visited the headquarters of a New York-based software company that we’ve worked with for years. It was an opportunity for me and the team to hear directly from a customer about how they used data to inform working policies and space decisions. On average, it took them five days of work each month to manually build a report with team attendance by location, day of the week, and frequency. Five days every month to produce one report! Not only was the process labor-intensive, it was error prone, and plagued with deduplication and redundancy. On top of that, the information was often outdated by the time it was circulated. It’s extremely difficult to make informed, cost-appropriate decisions with these challenges. With Workplace’s occupancy analytics, workplace leaders don’t do the heavy lifting. Everything is consolidated for easy consumption. It takes minutes to share real-time, out-of-the-box reports to executives or any stakeholder looking to answer critical questions about their space:

  • Which office spaces should be closed or consolidated?
  • Is cleaning necessary every day?
  • Are there enough desks or meeting rooms?
  • Which departments are coming in and are they showing up on the same days?
  • Are our in-office policies actually effective, i.e. are people coming in?

With accurate historical trends sliced and diced by day of week or frequency, workplace leaders have a better sense of what to anticipate going forward.

Just getting started

Today, Envoy Workplace delivers desk and room booking, delivery management, occupancy and space utilization analytics, as well as:

  • Interactive workplace mapping with points of interest: Make it easy for employees to find coworkers’ desks and locate key resources and points of interest like restrooms, printers, or break rooms, with customizable maps.
  • Workplace ticketing: Empower employees to report workplace issues on-the-go for even faster resolution via integrations to Jira and ServiceNow.
  • Announcements and notifications: Send important workplace updates, like policies and events, directly to an employee's mobile workplace app.
  • Badge access and Wifi integrations: Connect with access control systems and WiFi to automatically sign in and register people for the day.
  • Seating charts: Add permanent desks to the map to create seating charts.

And we’re just getting started. Over time, we’ll add new functionalities like move management, workplace scenario planning, and anonymized benchmarking that will allow peer-to-peer comparisons. We’ll also build more space management tools and deeper integrations to connect your office infrastructure.Beyond the standalone office, lab, or warehouse, expect Envoy Workplace to expand to multi-tenant buildings whose owners have many of the same challenges as their tenants. The future of work demands flexibility, efficiency, productivity and intentionality. Envoy Workplace embodies this commitment to empower and serve customers by enabling their very best work. Interested in what Envoy can do for your workplace? Start your free trial.
