ENVOY VS. VERKADA
Looking for a Verkada alternative? See how Envoy stacks up.
Cameras and access control are only part of the security picture. Envoy helps you manage the people, safety, and operations around your existing security stack, without replacing it.

Envoy vs. Verkada: What’s actually different?
There’s overlap, but the platforms are built for different jobs: Envoy for safety, security, and workplace operations; Verkada for physical security infrastructure.

Keep the security stack that already works
Add Envoy without replacing your existing access control or investing in a new reader ecosystem
Build on the systems already in place
Connect Envoy with 100+ integrations, including Verkada, LenelS2, Genetec, and other identity, HR, access control, and workplace systems.

Sounds great!
But I still have questions.
Yes. Envoy integrates with Verkada Access Control, so you can keep Verkada as part of your physical security stack while using Envoy for visitor, workplace, and safety workflows. Badge swipes can also automatically register employee presence in Envoy without requiring another check-in.
Both support core visitor management. Envoy adds more depth for complex enterprise programs, including conditional and multi-step approvals, visitor-type and location-specific workflows, regulated visitor requirements, and audit-ready records. Verkada Guest is tightly integrated with Verkada’s cameras and access control.
Both support emergency accountability. Verkada Incident Response is only available at sites using Verkada Guest, while Envoy Response connects threat intelligence and incident management to real-time presence signals such as badge swipes, Wi-Fi, SSO, geolocation, and visitor check-ins.
Envoy integrates with systems including Verkada, Brivo, LenelS2, Genetec, Kisi, and others, so teams can standardize visitor and workplace workflows without standardizing every site on the same access control vendor.
Envoy supports configurable visitor workflows, identity verification, approvals, screening, access controls, and audit-ready records that can help teams meet regulated visitor-management requirements. Envoy publicly documents support for ITAR and CTPAT compliance workflows. For CMMC, we recommend confirming any specific requirements with your Envoy team.
Bundled visitor management may be enough for teams with simpler requirements. Envoy is built for organizations that need more configurable approvals, regulated visitor workflows, broader access control integrations, workplace presence, and connections across safety and workplace operations.
